Jordan Love Split Stats King of Third Quarter

When evaluating quarterback performances by quarter, one name stands out – Jordan Love dominates the third quarter where he has an impressive 75% completion percentage while accumulating over 1,000 yards, and delivering 10 touchdowns to just 2 interceptions, resulting in a passer rating of 124.9. The closest other quarters include Tua Tagovailoa in the 1st quarter, Brock Purdy in the third and fourth, and Kirk Cousins in the third.

      Top Third Quarter Receivers

Love has targeted 16 different receivers, with only Ben Sims yet to make a catch. Among these, Romeo Doubs has been Love’s primary target, being targeted 25 times, closely followed by Jayden Reed with 19 targets. Interestingly, Love’s two interceptions were targeted at Doubs and Reed, respectively.

Christian Watson has maximized his opportunities, securing 9 receptions out of 11 targets for 179 yards and 4 touchdowns. Both Reed and Doubs have contributed 2 touchdown receptions of their own.

Love has demonstrated exceptional efficiency in the third quarter throughout the season. In only one game, against the Giants, did his third-down completion rate fall below 50%, going 2 for 5. Notable highlights include perfect performances against the Falcons (7 for 7 with 2 touchdowns), the Chargers (9 for 9, 103 yards, and 1 touchdown), and the Chiefs (5 for 5 with a touchdown).

However, Love’s performance across other quarters is intriguingly inconsistent. While both his third and first-quarter passer ratings surpass 100, the second and fourth quarters dip to 75.8 and 71.8, respectively. His fourth quarter issues are a result of often playing behind,  resulting in six interceptions during comeback attempts against the Lions, Raiders, Broncos, and Steelers.

The growth exhibited by Love throughout the season is exciting, particularly as he develops chemistry with the young receiving corps. Anticipation is high for what the upcoming year holds for Love and his evolving connection with the team’s receivers.
